27 October 2026 | Nordic Pavilion (Level 1, Pavilion C – Area 1 Teryan), 10:00 – 11:00 AMT

With COP17 officially kicking off this week, the NGFS is pleased to officially announce its flagship event at the conference - From framework to implementation: how central banks and supervisors are supporting the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework - will be held on 27 October from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Armenian time at the Nordic Pavilion (Blue Zone).

This event will be an opportunity to showcase the NGFS' Taskforce on Nature's latest Compendium on Implementation Practices of its 2024 Conceptual Framework, along with its other nature-related work. A core objective will be to demonstrate the NGFS' work in capacity building for its members to better identify and assess, as well as manage nature-related risks. It will also demonstrate how the NGFS' broader stakeholder base can use this work to bridge the gap between financial and environmental communities. Together, the event will demonstrate how identifying nature-related financial risks and incorporating them into operational practices can contribute to broader efforts to achieve the goals set out in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Thie event will be opened by the NGFS Secretary General, Yann Marin. He will be followed by Irene Heemskerk, co-chair of the NGFS European regional group and Head of the Climate Change Centre at the ECB, who will provide a regional perspective from the European context. This will lead into a presentation of the Compendium of Implementation Practices by Gonzalo García Trujillo from the Banco Central de Chile, Co-lead of the Conceptual Framework Implementation subgroup of the NGFS Task Force on Nature-related Risks. Finally, the session will conclude with a moderated roundtable by Artak Manukyan from the Central Bank of Armenia. During this roundtable, interventions from Aaron Vermeulen of the WWF and Natcha Boric from Finance for Biodiversity will represent a broader stakeholder perspective.
