The NGFS short-term scenarios represent a first-of-its-kind, publicly available tool offering a detailed and granular analysis of the near-term impacts of climate-related risks across the globe.
Focused on a five-year horizon, these scenarios complement the NGFS long-term scenarios, addressing the growing need for tools that support policy responses, financial risk assessments, and evidence-based decision-making in the short term. They are specifically designed to assess the dynamic interplay between climate policies (transition risks); extreme weather events (physical risks); and macro-financial developments.
Discover more about the short-term scenarios in this launch event presented by Sabine Mauderer (Chair of the NGFS) and Livio Stracca (Chair of the NGFS workstream on Scenario Design and Analysis), along with the modelers of our partner academic consortium.
