I. Web Site Privacy Statement
At Next Generation Financial Services, (NGFS) a Division
of 1st Mariner Bank, our commitment to protecting your privacy extends
to our Web site. This Web Site Privacy Statement supplements the
comprehensive privacy statement that we provide to all of our customers
and sets forth the additional procedures that we employ to protect your
privacy online. This Statement is intended to help answer any questions
that you might have concerning your privacy in connection with this Web
site, and it describes the technological procedures that we have in
place to safeguard any personally identifiable information that we
collect about you on this Web site.
What is NGFS's policy regarding the collection of information from those who visit this Web site?
Browsing, Shopping Rates, and Using Calculators or Other Features
If you are just browsing this Web site, using our Shop
Rates feature, or working with one of our Calculators, we do not
collect, capture, or retain any personally identifiable information
about you. Our Shop Rates feature is designed to inform you about
current interest rates and our Calculators are designed to assist you
with your financial planning in connection with obtaining a mortgage.
We do not receive any of the information that you input into the Shop
Rates feature or the Calculators. We do, however, collect certain data
that does not personally identify you. We use such data to track Web
site usage, such as the number of hits, pages visited, and the length
of user sessions, so that we can evaluate the usefulness of this Web
site.
Pre-Qualification and Online Mortgage Loan Application
If you request pre-qualification for a mortgage loan or
fill out a mortgage loan application online, we will collect personally
identifiable information about you. We will use this information solely
for the purpose of pre-qualifying you or considering you for a loan.
In no event will we provide any personally
identifiable information about you to a third party, other than a third
party to whom you give us permission to do so--such as a credit
reporting agency--or as necessary to provide you with the services or
products that you have requested. For example, this Web site is hosted
by the company IDSO, which also receives any information that you input
into this Web site. IDSO, however, has contractually agreed to abide by
NGFS's Privacy Policy. We may also provide personally identifiable
information about you to our corporate affiliate, 1st Mariner Bank,
subject to the terms set forth in the Sharing of Information with
Affiliate Notice set forth below on this Web page.
How does 1st Mariner Mortgage Corporation protect my privacy online?
NGFS collects personally identifiable information
from you only on secure Web pages. There are two ways to determine
whether or not the Web page you are visiting is secure:
1. Look at the address of the Web page being viewed. An
"s" at the end of http indicates that you have accessed a secure server
using SSL technology (defined below). Thus, any Web page beginning with
https:// is secure.
2. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0,
Netscape Navigator 4.0 or a higher version of either of these browsers,
look at the lower right hand corner of the browser's window. A picture
of a lock or key, depending on the browser, should be visible. If the
lock is closed or the key is solid, you are visiting a secure Web page.
If the lock is open or the key is broken, however, the site you are
visiting is not secure.
DO NOT INPUT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION ON A WEB PAGE THAT IS NOT IDENTIFIED AS BEING SECURE.
What is SSL?
SSL is the abbreviation for an encryption technology
called Secure Sockets Layer. SSL provides secure communications over
the internet by verifying that the server to which you are connected is
the one it claims to be. It also encrypts all transactions between the
parties.
What is encryption?
Encryption is the way in which information is scrambled
when it is sent over the Internet. Your data is made indecipherable to
any other party when encryption is used. The strongest form of
encryption available over the Internet today is 128-bit. 1st Mariner
recommends using 128-bit encryption for security.
What are cookies?
Cookies are pieces of data assigned by a Web server to
the browser on your PC. Cookies help Web sites recognize return
visitors. So, when you return to a Web site you've visited before, your
browser gives this data back to the server. The site that has sent the
cookie is the only one that can read the cookie. Contrary to reports
about cookies and online privacy, cookies do not contain viruses and
most cannot reveal any personal information about you unless you
willingly provide it as a user on a site.
Does this Web site use cookies?
Yes, although you can set your browser to reject
cookies. If you do reject cookies, however, you may not be able to
access or use all parts of this Web site. An alternative to rejecting
all cookies is to reject cookies when you are browsing, but accept
cookies when you want to use any of the special features of the Web
site.
How do I reduce the chance that my information could be accessed by another person after I use a public computer?
If you access information via a public computer,
such as at a public library, it is important that you properly log off
each interactive feature on the Web site that you have visited, such as
applying for a mortgage loan. This will help ensure the security and
privacy of your visit.
About Children's Privacy
This Web page is not designed to attract children under
the age of 13 and 1st Mariner Mortgage Corporation does not knowingly
capture personal information about children.

this one. Be advised, however, that we do not control how the owners of
other Web sites use information that you might provide to them, and we
are not responsible for the privacy and security of these sites. We

II. Important Disclosure and Agreement Concerning the MarketPlace and Third-Party Links Featured on this Web Site.
